Modelling Floating Urbanism
Latitude is working in Antwerp to complete the research Floating Urbanism – granted by Stimuleringsfonds voor Architectuur.
Besides the drawings and the report that will be also displayed in a number of panels, Latitude is finalizing a series of balck and white models using last generation technologies: the base is made in hight density polyethylene through CNC milling, the buildings are made in laser cut plexi and polystyrene, the roofs are made in polyamide through 3D laser sintering (at FabLabXL, Brussels and i.materialise). Samples of the six case studies (200×200 mt), three along the Amazon River and three in the Mekong Delta, are shown in the two main conditions: during the dry season when the water level is low and during the maximum water height.
