LATITUDE just presented its most recent work and researches on water to the Grupo Metrópole Fluvial (www.metropolefluvial.fau.usp.br) at the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo of São Paulo University (Brasil). The Grupo Metrópole Fluvial (GMF) has recently developed the architectural and urban design project Hidroanel Metropolitano de São Paulo: a network of waterways extended for about 170km and composed by the rivers Tietê and Pinheiros, Billings and Taiaçupeba, and an artificial canal linking a series of dams totaling. In the vision of the team the urban rivers arise as ways to transport cargo and passengers, tourist and recreational use, and contribute to the regularization of the urban macrodrainage. Water transportation is combined with integrated use of water resources, aiming at concretely contribute to the regeneration of the city.
