Latitude at ]pyblik[
How can public space interplay with water? How to regain water in the public space?
These are the interlinked questions posed at the Journée Thématique: L’eau et l’espace public organized by ]pyblik[ that will be held the 17th of May at the Centre International pour la Ville, l’Architecture et le Paysage in Brussels.
]pyblik[ is a programme promoted by the Brussels-Capital Region with the aim of enhancing the know-how and expertise in public space in the region linking together the academia, designers and local administrators.
Latitude will present some recent reflections about how boosting a more integrated water management can lead to the process of urban renovation hankered by many cities today. The seminar will precede the masterclass about possible perspectives on the space along Brussels’ canal. As many city around the word, over the last centuries Brussels has indeed misplaced its former strong relation with the water bodies of the original landscape in favour of more hard and hidden hydraulic infrastructures.
During the day, at the round table other researchers and design offices will present their recent explorations on the subject to foster the discussion.
