Exploring Luanda
In the framework of the research “Mobile A2K” promoted by SNIS – Swiss Network for International Studies and supported by SUPSI University (CH), Latitude is now conducting research in the field in Luanda, Angola, for a month.
The fieldwork aims at mapping the impact that public artworks and cultural events have on the city today and the role they played since the independence (1975). The research is especially focusing on the positive effects that such events and objects can leave on the urban space in terms of safety and security.
Latitude is trying to understand that complex topic through a series of urban explorations, formal and informal interviews to users (inhabitants) and producers (artists, curators, politicians etc.) and using different media : photography, video, recordings, drawings, maps.
Some results will be displayed soon.
