Experimental Observatory, Verona
On Tuesday 31st of July the Local Experimental Observatory of the Landscape of the Verona Plain was officially born. The Veneto Region and the Waterboard Consorzio di Bonifica Veronese have finally signed the convention in Venice. For the next 18 months the Observatory will work together with the University Iuav of Venice, the GAL Veronese (Gruppo Azione Locale) and the municipalities to involve the local communities in the processes of transformation of the landscape. The main goal is not to preserve but rather to increase the general awareness of the territory and to reinforce the local identity through a number of experimental participatory actions and operations that will implement what is foreseen by the European Landscape Convention (Florence, 19-20 October 2010).
Latitude has concretely contributed to this important achievement and it is already working with the Observatory on the next activities.
