EMU final presentation
Next Monday 16th of January at Palazzo Badoer – Università IUAV di Venezia, there will be the final presentation of the EMU students on the scenarios for Vazzola (TV) and Monteforte d’Alpone (VR). For the entire semester the two test-sites have been deeply investigated through extensive fieldwork, interviews and numerous lectures organized by Latitude, in order to build as much as possible a precise scenario for the chosen case studies. The multidisciplinary staff who worked with the students was formed by architects-urbanists, engeniers, anthropologists, graphic designers and others. The three groups of students developed proposals for the areas starting from some main key principles such as no-waste, 100% recycling, new commonality, etc. to imagine new territorial forms. Moerover, the different hydraulic issues that affect Vazzola and Monteforte d’Alpone – flooding risks, pollution, draught etc. – were considered structural for the construction of the scenarios: the innovative ways to contrast the environmental threats are in fact the basis of articulated spatial and socio-economic proposals.
The jury will be composed by Paola Viganò, Bernardo Secchi, Marcel Smets, Sybrand Tjallingii, Giambattista Zaccariotto and Latitude. The results of the EMU fall-winter studio 2011-2012 will be collected in a booklet that will be exhibited at the 5th IABR within Latitude’s ‘Veneto Region Counter-Site’.
