In the frame of the ongoing research Mobile A2K: Culture and Safety in Africa, part of the photographic survey conducted in Luanda (Angola) in February-March 2013 has been uploaded on Wikimedia Commons (check it here). The construction of a photographic archive aims at showing and documenting a city that is still difficult to access and on which visual descriptions are scarce, difficult to find on the web. Moreover, the documentation of urban spaces and architecture in Luanda, cultural spaces and public artworks, targets at giving them visibility and recognition: under the rapid and heavy transformation the capital is undergoing, heritage and cultural spaces have in fact little protection. We hope this can be the starting point of a growing archive.
